meet our new son

we've adopted again.
at the age of 41 I am a new mother
to a 3 month old healthy baby boy.

meet Sarge.

he's cute.

he's curious, aka NAUGHTY.

and he has ginormous paws.
he's going to be huge, I'm afraid.

here he is likely scheming his next
act of chewing and/ or
accident on the carpet....the little sneak.

alas, he is clearly loved by all,
that little furry bundle of joy.

p.s. I now know that those
2 am wake-up calls aren't as
easy to bounce back from
ate my current age...

that girl

I used to watch a tv show when I was little
starring Marlo Thomas
called That Girl. I couldn't now think of one
single episode plot, but I can still hum
the theme song.
I'm weird that way.

Anyway,
I was thinking about our Erin & how proud we
are of her, and wanted to share a little about

THAT girl of ours.

For someone who was diagnosed with
dyslexia in first grade, she is amazing.
There were years of academic struggle,
and social anxieties.
Looking at her today, you wouldn't believe it.

God has healed this little beauty in many
ways, and we couldn't be more proud.
She brought home a final report card
of all A's & one B to end her freshman
year, but more importantly,
we've watched her daily grow into
a compassionate, Spirit-filled, and
very funny teenager who loves life.
God has also gifted her with a servant's
heart and a very discerning spirit.

I'll end w/ the lyrics of the 1st verse of that
quirky little  TV sitcom...
kind of reminds me of our girl!

Diamonds, Daisies, Snowflakes,
That Girl
Chestnuts, Rainbows, Springtime...
Is That Girl
She's tinsel on a tree...
She's everything that every girl should be!

Yep,
Erin's the tinsel on the tree
around here for sure!

the fastest vacation ever

after all the graduation hoopla,
we headed for a wonderful
week at the beach.
it was so fun to spend
a week w/ my brother & his
family, but now it's back to
reality...
a reality I'm really grateful for!
(after the mountains of vacation
laundry are finished.)

here are some pics of our week...
